What do you imagine when I say the word "Schwetzingen"?

Huzzah!    After a great nights sleep we have a relaxed morning having a typical German breakfast with breads, meats, and cheeses. Joan and Liesel enjoy coffee and I have a Diet Coke which Lieselotte has bought me a healthy supply of and they are ice cold in the fridge. We talk and laugh and reminisce and make plans for the morning and the afternoon. Joan is doing a lot of loads of laundry which will take her pretty much till tomorrow. Lisa hasn't the need for the mongo gianormous machines we have in the states. I rest up and take my Musinex while basking in the glorious sunlight in her apartment.

The view from Lieselotte's balcony is wonderful and with a table and chairs outside it is a great place to watch the river and it's activity float by.

Today we are off to Schwetzingen Palace and Gardens. It dates back to 1350 when it started as a moated Castle. over the next several centuries it grew and became a place with elegant gardens in the 1700's.  Lisa has once again arranged for us to have an English tour and the guide is wonderful.

The Gardens were great. What knocked our socks off were the Cherry Trees.
